The Year of the Ox is fast approaching and now is the time to get ready for the annual energies that will be visiting your home in 2009.

2009 is the year of OX. The intellectual Chinese ancestor watched the paths of the stars in generations, and concludes a useful formula to describe the main character of the year. The ancient master used the ten heaven branches and twelve earth branches (which are also referred as the twelve zodiacs) that combine five elements of this universe. Every year is a match of one heaven branch and earth branch, and sixty years is a basic time cycle. In the coming year of 2009, the earth branch is zodiac ox, which belongs to earth element; the heaven branch is JI, which belongs to earth element; and the Nayin of the year belongs to fire.

In the year of Ox, the star Nine Purple locates in the center, it means this star is the emperor of the Ox year contemporary. In period of star Eight White (2004-2023), star Nine Purple is recognized as the future lucky star. Star Nine purple belongs to fire element, and this star is in charge of joyous event, such as romance and wealth. We can predict that the coming year will have more happy events than general. 2009 is the year of transition. For those who are already in love, 2009 is the auspicious year for planning marriage.

Nonetheless, the fire accident will be an affair to be cautioned about. Because right now it is the period of Eight White, so star Eight White Stays in the central palace too. One of the manifestations of Star Eight White is mountain, and the encounter of star Eight White and star Nine Purple will easily cause fire especially wild fire. We would suggest people to be very careful of these problems. People also need to be aware of diseases that may associate with respiration system, oral system (like teeth) and bones.

Different from the year star One White (water element) in 2008, Fire element of the coming year star has the tendency of rising upward, electronic industry (like computer, electric power), entertainment industry and cosmetic industry will be very beneficial, even the stocking market will recover and ignite some new passion next year.

The Chinese Lunar Year of 2009 is called as Ji Chou - the Year of the Yin Brown Earth Ox or Bull or Buffalo. In a sense, as Yin implies Female, some Chinese Astrologers prefer to call it as the Year of the Female Brown Earth Cow. It is also the Sixth Year in the New Fengshui Land Luck Cyclic Age of 8.

The Year of Ji Chou is an extremely strong Yin Earth Year as both Ji as well as Chou are of Yin Earth. Thus the analysis of the Five Elements reveals 2009 as Yin Earth sitting over Yin Earth. It means the elemental relationship of the year is productive and not destructive, but it could also be fiercely competitive.

2009 will be a demanding year that will extract extra hard work and large commitments but without proportional rewards. Transformations, policy changes, conviction politics will mark the year distinctly. The hyperinflation will continue haunting the world and the economic tsunami will continue to ravage most of the countries. Public anger will lead to strikes and demonstrations. Unrest, general discontentment and social violence will be visible strongly. 2009 will carry over the torch of instability but will show signs of recovery dawn by the year end. Prices of valuables, properties and stocks will fall heavily but will try to limp back in the second half of the year. However it is not all doom and gloom for everybody. Wealth will be made like any other year but it will be extremely tricky to retain it. More and more people will resort to unethical tactics and illegal short-cuts to gain quick money. Aggressive competition will add fuel to fire, leading to open confrontations, fraud exposures and legal mess. Business people will indulge in staff poaching, unethical acquisitions and forced mergers. Impulsive buying sprees and unplanned budgets will be common, resulting in financial chaos. Controlling the expenses will be a tough challenge for one and all. Armed robbery and religious conflicts will reach new high levels.

There will be more joyous occasions to celebrate, like weddings and new births. Business run by females will do better.

Inter-personal equations will be stagnant and will deteriorate fast if tempers are not controlled. Even time tested relationships will lack passion. The slightest provocation will collapse even solid harmony. Newly formed relationships will be formal and will lack faith - if not, watch out for the hidden skeletons.

Like in 2008, there will be too many natural calamities and man-made disasters. Water disasters (like contamination, floods, tsunamis, river banks overflowing, submergence, water pollution, oil spills) and fire hazards (like volcanic eruptions, bush fire, earth quakes, land slides, wild forest fires, terrorist bombings) will be on the increase. Electrical storms, overloads and blackouts are also possible. There could also be a lot of building collapses. Traffic accidents, disasters in construction sites and incidents like falling from high places will be quite common.

Environmental issues like global warming and saving earth will top the agendas of many countries and many new initiatives will be taken. Measures to improve farming and agriculture will be pursued vigorously. The year will see many notable technological breakthroughs and also advances in medical science.

The year will see the youth take over the reins from the old. Rulers will consolidate and slowly start the painful process of rebuilding and peace-making. Leaders will make a sincere attempt to come together to resolve issues.

Health problems pertaining to stomach (indigestion, meat contamination, food poisoning, diarrhea, etc.) and heart will be high. There will be increasing cases of diabetes and cancer with weight reduction becoming the highest debated issue. Succumbing to contagious illness will be more. There will be more birthing problems this year.

Homosexuality will make it to the news again and new rules and regulations will be made for them.

Fluctuating financial markets and volatile stock markets will fail to inspire confidence but the investors will learn to live with it by being cautious and conservative. In general, there will be high competition and low demands. Industries and trades that are expected to do well are : Finance, Food, Beverage & Eateries, Lotteries, Energy & Windmills, Office and Home Appliances, Nano Technology, Entertainment, Information Technology, Security, Environmentally Sensitive Gadgets and Energy Saving Devices. Travels, Tourism and Textiles will slow down considerably. Fields that might not do well are : Properties and Construction, Engineering, Shipping and Airlines, Minerals and Mining, Jewellery, Automobiles, Arts, Advertising and Insurance.

Basics of Flying Star Fengshui

Flying Star System is a system used in Time-Dimension Feng Shui to analyze what type of intangible forces are occupying a particular compass direction. It is moving in a cyclical pattern and constantly changing location in time. It is a body of energies that governs a particular year, month or day. There are nine (9) stars with different influences positioning on each compass direction that affect us.

This system is also used in conjunction with the positioning of important rooms inside a property such as the location of the Main Door, Kitchen, Toilets and Bedrooms. To fully understand this system, let’s take a look at the different stars and its meanings:

The two most important and challenging energies to be aware of and remedy are the very challenging 5 yellow, symbolizing obstacles and misfortune located in the North and the challenging sickness energy of the 2 in the West. The energy of the 5 is the most negative energy of all the flying stars and you will need to use a brass metal wind chime in the North sector of the garden and metal bells in the North sector of your home. Hang them on a door or drawer that is used regularly to help suppress this negative energy and avoid the colour red in the North area for 2009.

The number 2 flying star represents sickness and you will need a brass calabash and/or Six Chinese coins located in the West sector of the house for 2009. These are to aid in absorbing the negative sickness energy. Be extra careful if your main door is located in the North or the West sector in 2009.

The Grand Duke this year is in the North East whilst the Three Killings is located in the East, hence it is not favourable to "move earth" or make substantial construction work in these sectors. It is also not recommended for one to sit with back against North East as you will be sitting against the unfavourable energy. If this is unavoidable place a Dragon Tortoise facing North East as it is said to appease the Grand Duke. The Pi Xiu can also be used for this purpose.

The positive energies of the 8 and 9 are located in the South East and the centre of the house so if your front door or bedroom is located here you may find good opportunities coming your way for 2009 in improve your wealth, health and/or relationships.
