Furniture should be square or rectangular, not round or oval. It is good if the ceiling slopes down toward the northeast direction.

North-east corner is governed by Eeshwar; Pooja room should be built in this corner. This corner should not be used for bed room, kitchen or any other room, and no other articles should be placed in the pooja room. Cleanliness must be maintained around it. One should sit facing north or east while worshipping. Idols or pictures of the deities should be placed on a high platform built on four legs (sinhasan) or a cup-board in the wall in the north or east side.

Children's rooms can be in the west, north or east of the building. A west side bedroom is best for children. An eastern bedroom can also be used for unmarried children or guests; but a room east is recommended for a newly-wed couple. The beds in the children's room can be in the southwest portion with heads in the east or south direction

One increases his or her knowledge by studying. A study room should be such that the person studying there can put his full concentration and gain the maximum out of it. If placed wrongly, then you will not able to concentrate properly, will not be able to sit there for long and will feel uncomfortable.

Proper care should be taken while designing the guest room as it is a place where people from outside come and live there. These people can also harm you if the placement of the room is not correct. The guestroom should be such that the person coming there should not become dominating. If placed in wrong corner, the guest can become permanent and can also replace the owner.

Proper place for bath-room has been suggested in the east direction. The mild rays of the morning sun are beneficial for health. These rays can be received by the body while bathing, there fore bath room in the east side is good. There is a tradition in our culture to offer prayer (arghya) to the rising sun, just after taking bath. Slope of the floor of the bath room should be towards north or east. Water should drain out on the north or east side.

Storeroom should be made in the Northwest or Southwest portion of the house. It is very beneficial if grains and other provisions are stored in the Northwest store. All heavy things may be stored in the Southwest of the storeroom. Garbage may be collected in the Southern side portion of the house
