2010 - Year of the White Metal Tiger

February 14, 2010 - February 02, 2011

The "Yang Metal Tiger"!

General Overview of White Metal Tiger Year

The Year of the Metal Tiger 2010

In reference to the Chinese calendar the Chinese New Year begins on 14th February 2010 until 3rd February 2011. It should be clarified that in Feng Shui we work with the Hsia calendar or the Solar Calendar whilst Chinese New Year celebrations are based on the Lunar calendar which falls on the 14th February for 2010.

In the Chinese Calendar, the yin or yang version of one of the Five Elements will show up throughout a ten-year period. This will also coincide with one of the 12 Chinese Animals. Therefore, with this combination of the Five Elements with the 12 Animals, there are 60 years in the Chinese Calendar.

The Metal Tiger year begins in 2010 on Valentines Day! The last one was way back in 1950 and certainly as a year it brought about plenty of change, challenge and even war. You have two conflicting and very powerful elements at play during the year of the Metal Tiger. To begin with, the Metal in a year that ends with a zero, e.g. 2010, 1950, 1940, 1930, etc., is yang Metal. This can be symbolic of a sword or an axe. It brings about decisions, compliance and strength. There's also quite a strong military aspect to yang Metal. In addition, the 12-year cycle of Animals brings the Tiger into play, and this animal belongs to the Wood element (Metal and Wood clash) and the Tiger represents defence, power, strength and sometimes conflict. When Metal and the Tiger combine, you literally have a coiled up Tiger that is ready to unleash or pounce on its prey!

On 31 January 1950, President Harry Truman ordered the development of the hydrogen bomb. In February 1950 Albert Einstein warned that nuclear war could lead to mutual destruction; a day later the US Air Force launched a B36 bomber with an atomic bomb. In South Africa the Group Areas Act was passed which effectively brought Apartheid into place. During the same month Britain recognised Israel. During May 1950 the very first FIA Formula One World Championship at Silverstone, England. June 1950 saw the start of the Korean War. In August of the same year a B-29 Super Fortress crashed in California. October saw the invasion of Tibet by China, and to this day the situation has never changed there. Another B-50 Super Fortress US Bomber ran into problems in Canada. The Korean War continued. In December Mount Etna erupted in Sicily and President Truman sent advisors to Vietnam to help the French Forces. All in all, a very changeable and volatile year.

I believe that as time spins quicker and with stronger force nowadays, we may see many examples of rapid change occurring.

The Year of the Tiger 2010 is a Yang Metal year, and it's a year of much activity, drama, changefulness, crisis, and unpredictability. Tiger years are associated with political and social instability or upheaval. Metal is not a very compatible element for Tiger (Tiger prefers Wood and Fire), and thus 2010 is expected to be challenging and turbulent overall. Nevertheless, the Tiger does prefer Yang, and 2010 is a Yang year, which strengthens matters somewhat. It is strong for technological advances and innovations.

The overall theme is one of change and unpredictability, and so all signs will benefit from remaining flexible and adaptable to changeful conditions in 2010. While caution and moderation were advised in 2009, the Year of the Ox, flexibility and the ability to deal with change are essential qualities in 2010.

The Tiger's independent, innovative, assertive, leading, and honorable traits are qualities that will be especially favored in the year of the Tiger.

The last Tiger Metal year was 1950 (February 17, 1950, to February 5, 1951).

During Chinese New Year period, Many people like to read their Chinese Horoscopes for the coming year. Read 2010 forecast on clicking the signs given above.

Basics of Flying Star Fengshui

Flying Star System is a system used in Time-Dimension Feng Shui to analyze what type of intangible forces are occupying a particular compass direction. It is moving in a cyclical pattern and constantly changing location in time. It is a body of energies that governs a particular year, month or day. There are nine (9) stars with different influences positioning on each compass direction that affect us.

This system is also used in conjunction with the positioning of important rooms inside a property such as the location of the Main Door, Kitchen, Toilets and Bedrooms. To fully understand this system, let’s take a look at the different stars and its meanings:

  • White Star 1 – star that brings good reputation, recognition and advancement luck.

  • White Star 6 – brings power and authority. It also brings nobleman or helpful people.

  • Green Star 4 – good for literary or academic and relationship luck.

  • Black Star 2 – brings illness and accidents.

  • Jade Star 3 – brings arguments, gossips and stress.

  • Five Yellow – brings major misfortune.

  • Red Star 7 – brings burglary, lawsuit and rivalry

  • White Star # 8 – is the most prosperous and vibrant star in this current period of 8. It governs accumulation of wealth and prosperity from the main source such as salary, rentals, and other financial source in a regular basis. This is also referred to as the Primary Wealth Star.

  • Purple Star # 9 – is the star that brings luck for future expansion or prosperity. It is considered the secondary Wealth Star as it the best star to tap if you want long-term and big profits in the future. Its effect is not immediate.

2010 annual flying stars duplicate the ruling age of 8. This implies that all stars have double boosters. In Feng Shui system, we also look into the annual energy shift and how it can influence and affect the Feng Shui of our house and workplace.

Stars 5, 2 & 3
Annually, we should be mindful of the three potent stars; 5, 2 and 3.

Star 5 a sickness and loss star is residing at the Southwest sector. If your main door or bedroom window face southwest place a metal object to harmonize star 5.

Star 2 is at the Northeast sector and also inline with this year’s Grand Duke direction. Avoid knocking or carrying out renovation if your main door faces northeast. You may hang a 6 rod metal wind-chime outside this direction. If your bedroom lies at this sector minimize noisy activities such as TV or hi-fi sets. You may hang a strand of 6 ancient Chinese metal coins on the window behind the curtain. Therefore if your house falls on the NE-SW or SW- NE you have to take extra precautions on these two potent stars.

Star 3 a quarrelsome and legal entanglement star is at the south sector. Place something red in color. If it lies at the main door you may place a red color floor rug. In the house south sector turn on a lamp. Fire element is required to dissolve this troublesome star.

Star 7 Another problematic star, number 7, a robbery star resides at the southeast sector. This star may also trigger fire hazard within the home. If your kitchen lies on the southeast sector be mindful with your stoves and gas cylinders position. To harmonize, place a bowl of ‘still’ water on this sector.

The following stars 4, 6, 8, 9 and 1 are deemed auspicious for this year. However, it must be properly addressed to activate the good energy.

Star 6 is at East sector. It can bring promotion, power and status. Place a bowl of still water at this location. Good for patriarch of the house. Be wary of foot injuries.

Star 8 the current prosperity star is at the centre. Avoid placing plants or wooden object in the centre of your house. Activities are encouraged. If you have baby or toddler at home, make this area their playground.

Star 9 is another wealth star at the Northwest sector. Place a moving water feature to bring you wealth luck and also enhance the luck to the patriarch in the family.

Star 1 is residing at the west sector and is good for couples whose bedrooms lie in this sector. Suitable for those newly wedded couple who wish to have baby. Good luck.

Star 4 is rather tricky. It can bring romance and academic success. It may also bring undesirable sexual affairs. This year star 4 is at the north sector. Your may place your children study desk here to improve their academic performance. To activate romance place a blue color vase with fresh flowers. Do not use artificial flowers if you’re looking for true love. For married couples place a pair of mandarin duck in your bedroom to enhance your relationship.

On the macro level, Star 9 a fire element flies to Northwest this year. In Feng Shui terms, Northwest is also known as the ‘Heaven’s Gate’. Fire burning the Heaven’s Gate is deemed inauspicious. This could imply the head of the family, head of department and regional leaders may face sever threat this year. Beware of road accidents and air travel to the Northwestern regions. Pay more attention to the Northwest sector of your homes and office.

The above recommended Feng Shui cures are based on traditional approach and also commonly proposed to my clients in my practice. Today, there are many equivalent Feng Shui products and are readily available. While you do have choices, make sure you got it right at the right place and it is not necessary that ‘expensive’ is better. Good luck.

The Year of the Tiger, 2010

West (1 White)

The 1 White Star occupies West. This is a positive star that governs relationship.

If you're single and looking for life long partner, this is your savior star. If use well, this star can literally turn you into a love magnet. No joke.

Married couple with intention to add new family member (aka babies) can also harness the energy of this star to their advantage.

However, there are situations when you should leave this star alone even though it is a positive star. In those situations, I would advise against harnessing its power.

Summary for year 2010:

The best months for the west are February, May, July, September and November.

Take extra care in the months of March, April, August, October and December and check back here to further analyse these months.

You can also place a moving (yang) water feature in the west in 2010. To get a better idea of whether to use water for wealth it is a good idea to construct a flying star chart of your home and then decide.

Enhancement, Summary and Advice:

  • A brass Wu-Lou is advisable for a bedroom that falls into the west along with all shades of blue, black, grey or charcoal colours. This is especially so if you are not in good health and if you cannot buy a wu lou place a heavy round object close to your bed but avoid candles or colours red, pink, orange, purple or any fire colours.
  • Place a wealth protection talisman in the form of ten auspicious i-ching Chinese coins tied with red ribbon in a certain order (Xing Yun Qang); this is so important in 2010 and if you cannot buy one, use ten loose Chinese coins in a row but do not attempt to tie red ribbon on them as they must be tied in a very special order to obtain the most influential power.
  • Avoid candles or fire colours like red, pink, purple, orange or burgundy in the west in 2010, blues, blacks, grey or charcoal are good colours to use.
  • Metal objects are good to place in the west in 2010.
  • If the youngest female is weak and/or unhealthy be careful if extending or refurbishing the west of your home or office in 2010, it could cause them problems.
  • Place creative enhancements like displaying an abacus, calligraphy set, artist tools like canvas, brushes etc.
  • Naturally not as powerful but round metal shapes are an alternative to using Feng Shui items but avoid sharp or menacing looking metal objects.
  • Make sure you remove all the metal cures like the salt cures and six coin in a row from the 2009 cures from the west as this can cause many relationship problems if left.

North East (2 Black)

According to flying stars feng shui 2010, the 2 Black Illness Star enters the Northeast palace.

You probably know from its name that this is an unlucky star.

As a matter of fact, this is an extremely powerful negative star, especially if it lands on your main door, bedroom, kitchen, office desk or cash register.

It is notorious for causing respiratory related illness, affecting financial stability or health so make sure you disperse its energy completely.

Summary for year 2010:

Do not activate this area with loud noises, keep quiet and avoid building work or refurbishment although it is not too bad. Do not use the fire element or colours red, pink or purple. Keep doors closed. Place a Wu Lou, salt water cure, gold Toad, wealth ingot and six coins here along with metal ornaments. Use colours white, silver, gold or copper.

Take extra care in the months of February, April, May, July and November.

Remedies:

  • Hang six Chinese coins tied in red ribbon.
  • Place a salt water cure.
  • You can use any metal ornament as long as it is not sharp or aggressive looking, and believe it or not a good cure is a round metal dog bowl or weight lifters weights.
  • A brass wealth ingot is good for protecting wealth.
  • Place a gold coloured three legged Toad with an i-ching coin underneath.
  • Place a Wu Lou and/or other metal ornaments to dissipate the negative earth.
  • A metal singing bowl is very good as is a stainless steel Dog bowl.
  • Avoid using red colour in this room and refrain from displaying triangle shape or fiery pictures.
  • Place a wealth, protection & romance amulet for 2010 (Shi Dong Wu).
  • Avoid candles or bright lights at all costs. Check or upgrade smoke alarms and other fire prevention methods.
  • Place a Ba Gua mirror in the northeast outside only and use a wealth protection Ba Gua mirror.
  • Naturally not as powerful but round metal shapes are an alternative to using Feng Shui items but avoid sharp or menacing looking metal objects.

South (3 Jade)

The 3 Argumentative Jade Star enters the South palace.

This star is notorious for legality issues, obstructing career advancement, and creating fights among couples.

The energy of this star is especially potent if the unit is sea facing, or a pond, aquarium or water plants are located in the south sector.

To calm interactions:

  • Place a light in the south if you have a choice, a lamp with a wooden stand and a peach/red shade is better.
  • Do not hang wind chimes of any material in the south in 2010, especially metal wind chimes as it will worsen matters. If you have been advised by a professional Practitioner this is fine.
  • During hot summer months, make sure the fan is not located in the south.
  • Take extra security measures for the whole home or business during 2010 and check smoke alarms.
  • Check through everything before signing documents if office is in the south.
  • Try and keep this area quiet and do not disturb with loud noises.
  • Try not to let children or noisy animals play in the south.
  • Beware of backstabbing, as sometimes it is unseen and behind your back and also from someone you thought you knew quite well.
  • Invest in a good compass and avoid placing machines like a TV, fan, fax machine, computer or any machines that creates noise or vibration in the south of any room.
  • Most important is not to disturb the ground inside or out.

North (4 Green)

4 Green Wood Star, the star for intellectual and success achievement goes North.

If you want career or academic success, or if you have schooling kids, you should take advantage of this star.

This star is greatly strengthened by the water energy in the North in the year of the Tiger.

That's good news as it greatly enhanced you (or your children) concentration. But you can boost the energy of this star further through the use of feng shui 2010 enhancers.

Cures and Enhancers:

  • Use blue in your décor if this is your office or bedroom.
  • Make sure you remove all the metal cures like the salt cures and six coins in a row from the 2009 cures and enhancers kit from the north as this will cause many relationship problems if left.
  • For office and studies, place a task light and a crystal globe on the work desks. Blue items can be added on the desk e.g. blue paper, blue books etc
  • Avoid displaying metal objects here especially large heavy ornaments.
  • Fresh flowers or small pots of green leafy or flowering plants can be displayed in this spot of the house to lift the qi. Blue or green flowers are a good choice.
  • If you have mandarin Ducks this is a good area to have them and any other symbols of romance like hugging couples etc.
  • Place photos of loved ones or images of love to enhance relationships or attract new love. This can be photos, paintings or statues, make sure there is always a pair in the image.
  • For romance a Dragon headed Tortoise or Mandarin Ducks are very good.

South West (5 Yellow)

According to flying stars feng shui 2010, the 5 Fearsome Yellow Star moves to the Southwest Palace.

As usual, where this star goes, it only spells trouble. This year, the earth energy of period 8 further intensifies the negative energy of this star.

You may know that I pay special attention to the movement of the 5 Yellow Fearsome Star. I make sure that I use suitable feng shui cure to properly disperse its energy. The same for the 2 Illness Black Star.

But why does this star deserve such great respect? Because it's the most notorious star. This stat is capable of more havoc than any other stars.

This star can affect fertility, and for ladies, it can bring about other gynecological related complications.

For those with schooling kids, the affliction can hinder the kid's academic progress.

If this star lands on your main door, room door, kitchen or toilet, its effect will be more prominently felt.

So don't undermine the destructive power of this star.

Summary:

Do not activate the southwest with loud noises, keep area quiet and avoid at all costs building work or refurbishment. Do not use the fire element or colours red, pink or purple. Keep doors closed. Place a six-rod wind chime, Wu Lou, salt water cure and six coins here along with metal ornaments. Use colours white, silver, gold or copper. I will repeat this part, as it is so important, please keep the southwest of your home or office as quiet as possible, avoid redecoration and building work in 2010 in the southwest part of your home or office and when you hang your wind chime try not to make so much noise with hammers etc, don't worry about the noise the wind chime makes, this is all part of the cure, so when it is in place try and remember to knock it a few times a day.

Summary for year 2010:

Take extra care in the months of May, July, August and October.

Please remember that Sui Po resides between 232.5º - 247.5º southwest in 2010. It is vital that you must not disturb this 15º sector in 2010.

To calm interactions:

  • Avoid playing loud music in the southwest of the home or room.
  • Do not decorate your room with red or earth colours this year. Grey, blue or white beddings and curtains are good colours to use temporarily.
  • Place a salt water cure in the southwest of the building along with six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon and six hollow metal rod wind chime.
  • The six coins in row and salt cure are a crucial cure to place in 2010, please do not forget it.
  • Place a Brass Wu-Lou in the southwest corner of the room if this is your bedroom.
  • Metal objects such as six Chinese metal coins tied in a red ribbon and/or a brass Dragon can be placed in this corner too. Do not to use red dragons.
  • Do not place red objects, burning candles or triangular shaped furnishing in this sector.
  • Most of all, avoid disturbing the north at all costs. Any form of renovations that needs to be done, plan it for another year. It is worth keeping this in mind.
  • A Pi Yao in a gold colour is very effective at not only reducing the bad earth but by also protecting your wealth for the year in the southwest.
  • Replace or at the very least cleanse your Ba Gua mirror in the southwest especially if you have a door here.
  • If you have a main door in the southwest make sure you oil the hinges and try not to let it bang shut and oil squeaky hinges.
  • If you use a fan or other machines that creates noise or vibration try and avoid placing it in the southwest part of a room, get yourself a good compass.

East (6 White)

6 White Star moves East.

This is a weak wealth star, but you can still take advantage of its energy if you boost its energy with a powerful enhancer.

The East is commonly associated with wood energy. And 6 White Star being a metal element star clash with the wood energy in this direction.

The Metal-Wood clash brings about monetary related conflicts, resulting in strained relationships.

Couples and business owner should pay attention to this clash. For couples, this may strained their relationship. On the other hand, business owners may get themselves entangled in credibility issues resulting in declining profits.

Summary for year 2010:

Take extra care in the months of June, August and September.

On the whole this is a nice area and even better if your main door or office is located here, keep area active with windows and doors open. Good colours are earth colours yellow. Place some real quartz crystal here or the hanging faceted sphere type; these are very good for activating the wealth and business side of this nice star.

Enhancers and cures if needed:

  • If this is your bedroom, a shade of blue or black in your furnishing or décor may help with health. A blue painting (not water scene) may also do.
  • Place a Wu Lou Trinity talisman (Gua Hu Fu) in the east in 2010; these are very traditional and powerful cures.
  • Real quartz crystal is very good in the east for 2010 as are faceted crystal spheres.
  • Avoid colours red and candles in the east in 2010.

South East (7 Red)

The 7 Red Star occupies the Southeast palace in the year of the Tiger.

This used to be a wealth star till 2004. When we enter period 8, it started to lose its wealth energy. In 2010, the 7 Red Star is considered a negative star.

This year, the 7 Red Star clashes with the wood energy associated with this direction. This meeting creates unpleasantness between colleagues and family members.

The effect is especially severe if your main door, room door, toilet or kitchen is located in the south east sector of your unit.

Summary:

Keep the southeast quiet and doors and windows kept closed. Good colours are blue or black. Avoid earth and fire colours and quartz crystals.

Summary for year:

If you have an office or door in the southeast be careful of people trying to deceive you, robbery, arguments and loss of wealth, always look at the very small print and be careful as this star normally causes problems with people you know and thought you could trust.

Remedy:

  • You should also use more blue, grey, black or charcoal colours in your decoration. You can introduce the colour with cushions, rugs, bed covers or doormats.
  • Do not use anything of fire element or colours red to control it as this may aggravate it.
  • Avoid candles in the southeast at all costs.
  • Install or service/upgrade smoke alarms and security systems.
  • Do not hang metal wind chimes here.

Centre (8 White)

The 8 Auspicious Wealth Star moves to central palace.

Although a wealth star, its position in the center means that it's energy is trapped by the other surrounding stars. To take advantage of its wealth energy, you'll need to unleash its power from the central location.

Summary for year:

Take extra care with health in the months of August, October and November.

To Enhance:

  • Hang a faceted crystal sphere in the centre of the house. Hang it above head height and twist now and again.
  • The energies of the annual 8 can be activated by human activities. Use this room as frequently as possible unless you have received professional advice against it.
  • A red three-legged toad can be placed here. Make sure the toad is facing into the house and not towards the door and the coin is never taken out of his mouth.
  • Introduce some fire colours into the centre to balance the energies, a quick and easy way is using bed covers, rugs, table covers, sofa throws etc.
  • If your bedroom is here, you can also place an amethyst or any crystal items in the centre of the bedroom to further strengthen the earth element of the benevolent 8.
  • This is also a good study area for children. Place a task light and a crystal globe on the desk to enhance concentration.
  • A romance enhancer is a pair of Mandarin Ducks in the centre this year.
  • Keep area active with open windows and doors (yang energy).
  • Keep the area outside and inside the centre, west, north and east as clear clutter free and open as possible, you need to let the auspicious Qi collect here and distribute inside and outside, when this happens it is know as Ming Tang , this is a collection of Sheng Chi (auspicious energy) , this is a collection of Sheng Chi (auspicious energy).

North West (9 Purple)

The 9 Purple Star possesses enormous positive energy, and governs joyful events like marriage, promotion, salary raise, and job opportunities.

Although a positive star, this star can hinder your promotion opportunities, and adversely affect your wealth, love and relationship luck if it lands in the toilet, pond or fish tank. This is known as the water-fire clash.

Summary for year:

Be aware of the negative influences during the March, September and December and check the monthly flying stars.

To Enhance:

  • Healthy green leafy plants or blue flowering plants such as violets are good for this area.
  • Fresh flowers displayed here will bring positive qi too.
  • Symbolic objects such as a wu lou or six Chinese coins can be placed here all year round to enhance benevolent influence and at the same time dissipate the malevolent influence by the visiting monthly #2 and #5.

Water placement in 2010

As we entered period 8 (4th February 2004) the use of water outside is critical up until 2024, so a pond outside in the correct area can really work in your favour. You must not unless advised by professional Feng Shui Practitioner place water outside in the north-east up until 2024.

Outside water in 2010: Can be placed in the south-west or east, this is your primary and secondary wealth areas for the next sixteen years. In 2010 water outside in the southwest is very good but it would not be advisable to install a water feature this year though as the annual flying star is inauspicious although if you know what your natal chart (flying star chart) is and you also have a good facing star this would make a very powerful combination for wealth. Because the southwest is afflicted in 2010 I would not advise digging or disturbing the SW in 2010 but if you want to place a mobile water feature in the SW this is fine although still check with your Practitioner.

Indoor water for 2010: You can use a moving water feature or aquarium in the northwest or west in 2010. Do not use water in any other compass sectors unless you have had a professional Feng Shui consultation.

If you are using water you must make sure the water is clean and flowing and never allow it to become stagnant. Water is a very powerful enhancer and is the essence of Feng Shui (Shui meaning water) the Ch'i is caught by the water and cleansed (providing the water is clean) and distributed throughout your property.

Whilst the methods above are considered safe, there are many exceptions to the placement of water and as Master Practitioners and teachers. We use many more methods of water placement for wealth, education and relationship, these methods whilst extremely powerful can only be used with expert guidance and a full analysis of your property and land formations.

Tips For Annual Flying Stars for 2010

The two most important and challenging energies to be aware of and remedy are the very challenging 5 yellow, symbolizing obstacles and misfortune located in the South West and the challenging sickness energy of the 2 in the North East. The energy of the 5 is the most negative energy of all the flying stars and you will need to use a brass metal wind chime in the South West sector of the garden and metal bells in the South West sector of your home. Hang them on a door or drawer that is used regularly to help suppress this negative energy and avoid the colour red in the South West area for 2010.

The number 2 flying star represents sickness and you will need a brass calabash and/or Six Chinese coins located in the North East sector of the house for 2010. These are to aid in absorbing the negative sickness energy. Be extra careful if your main door is located in the South West or the North East sector in 2010.

The Grand Duke this year is in the North East whilst the Three Killings is located in the North, hence it is not favourable to "move earth" or make substantial construction work in these sectors. It is also not recommended for one to sit with back against North as you will be sitting against the unfavourable energy"". If this is unavoidable place a Dragon Tortoise facing North as it is said to appease the Grand Duke. The Pi Xiu can also be used for this purpose.

The positive energies of the 8 and 9 are located in the Centre and the North West sectors so if your front door or bedroom is located here you may find good opportunities coming your way for 2010 to improve your wealth, health and/or relationships.

It is important to remember that the annual flying stars are best to use in conjunction with the period star and the flying star of the building.

The Feng Shui setting out for the Metal Tiger Year 2010:

The East: This is the location of courage and military ability and it brings luck to anyone having a non-clerical job. If you want a promotion, put 8 white stones in the East grid of your house. If you want a salary raise, put a glass of water there. Those in disciplinary squads, rail maintenance, or those working as computer hardware technicians, interior decoration workers or construction workers would all benefit from this position.

The Southeast: There is where the Star Qi Chi shines on. It was the Star of strong luck previously and its luck is slowly fading. Yet, it still brings some luck. You can put a glass of water in the Southeast grid to boost your luck of wealth.

The South: This is the location of quarrels and fights and you can put a pink carpet in the South grid of your home to resolve. (If your job demands talking frequently to strangers, then you don't need to resolve it.)

The Southwest: This is the position of major sickness and it brings problems to your respiratory and digestive system. If your main door, kitchen or bedroom falls right on the Southwest grid, you would even have more serious symptoms. To resolve, put a music box or wind chimes in the Southwest grid of the house. You can also put other metal objects that make a sound there, such as several metal keys.

The West: This is the location of relationship. To boost your love luck and general human relations, put a glass of water here with a conventional music box next to it. Wind the music box from time to time to vibrate the water with sound waves. This is not restricted to single readers only. If you want to make more connections, or your job demands frequent social contacts and interpersonal skills, you should try it even if you're married.

The Northwest: There is the location of joyful events. If you have been in a steady relationship for some time but your wedding is not planned yet, you can put 4 potted plants and 9 steams of red flowers in this position to make it happen. Of course boosting the luck in this location catalyses all joyful events, such as having a baby if you're married, getting a career promotion or salary raise etc.

The North: This is where the luck of intellectual achievement is located. To boost such luck, you can grow 4 water bamboo plants in the North grid of your house. Or simply putting a glass of water there would help too. Besides enhancing the luck of students and scholars, such direction also has positive effects on signing contracts or processing of documents.

The Northeast: This is the direction of minor sickness and if your main door, kitchen or bedroom falls right on the Northeast grid of the house, you'd get sick easily. The ailments would be mostly related to the respiratory system (i.e. throat, trachea, and lungs) and the abdomen. You can put a metal object that makes a sound (e.g. a conventional music box, wind chimes or a bunch of metal keys) in that grid of your house to resolve.

The Central Grid: The Star of Wealth Ba Bai is here. You can put a glass of water, or grow water plants, or put a fish tank in the Central grid of your house to boost your luck of wealth.

The Annual Xuan Kong/Flying Stars apply to all homes, regardless of the Time Period in which they were built. The Annual Stars can act as catalysts or triggers within each compass sector, and you should examine their interaction with the natal Xuan Kong probability combination of the Siang Sin, Main Star and Chor Sin within each compass sector to determine how strong or weak the annual influence may be. It also helps to look ahead at the monthly flying stars to see when the annual positive and negative factors will be doubled or enhanced by monthly stars.

May joy, happiness, wealth and health come to you
throughout the Year 2010 of The White Metal Tiger!
