We live in, and are surrounded by, various types of energy fields, which operate freely in open space. Where we work can influence our happiness, wealth, health, and prosperity. Vaastu helps us in designing the office, so that it ensures a harmonious flow of energy in the office and restoration of that equilibrium.

At the physical level, it provides comfort and convenience, and a user-friendly environment that is full of space and light. At the psychological level, because of the aesthetic environment it creates, there is a feeling of well-being, tensions lessen and relationships improve.

First of all an ideal office, free from any of Vastu defects should be selected. After selecting the office, in designing a lay-out for office and providing for utilities special attention should be paid for the following aspects which will enhance the energy and environment of your office:

If the office is part of a residence or in a factory the ideal location is along south-west, south or west of the premises.

The entrance door to an office should preferably be in the east or north. East ensures an inflow of new ideas and north signifies the flow of wealth. Nevertheless if it’s from south or west, draw a swastika on the layout plan, wherever there’s an opening in this symbol your premises can have one too.

The ideal ratio of length-breadth is 1:2.

The door should be fixed absolutely vertical to the floor, it should never slant under any circumstances which is to say it should not close by itself other than using a door closer. There should not be any creaking sound of door while opening or closing.

Never keep a trash can next to the entrance door nor should it be in visual range. Do not have any obstruction in front of the main door. If it’s a large office, ensure not to have three doors in a straight line.

The floor level of an office can be lower towards east and north and slightly elevated towards southwest. The organisational head should sit a little above the rest of the employees.

Reception should be in north-east.

The northeast corner is ideal for the Manager’s table as it aids concentration.

Keep the Northeast of all your rooms light and clean.

Puja Place should be built in the north-east corner.

The center must not have any heavy object placed near it.

Avoid placing your desks facing a doorway. Avoid also sitting with your backs directed to a door opening.

Toilets may be placed in north-west.

Pantry should be located in south-east or north-west.

Computer room should be in south-east.

Marketing departments should be in north-west.

Purchase department and other should be in south or west.

Accounts department
It is auspicious to place your accounts department towards north as this is the direction of the God of wealth. The cash box must be placed against the south wall of the room so that it opens northwards.

Administrative department
Location of the chief executive, departmental heads should be in southwest quadrant. The shape of their cabin is to be a square or a rectangle.

In order to get inspiration from the rising Sun, the chief should work facing the east alternatively the north. North is strongly recommended for those in financial services.

Other departments: Administration towards east, R&D or creativity in the Southeast, policy makers long south or west.
