  Vaastu for Harmony
Vastu Shastra aims at creating an inner harmony within us. It achieves this objective by creating a harmony between the man, his habitat and his environment.

Vastu Science enables human being to dwell in an environment which corresponds to them to bring overall contentment. The principles of Vastu are followed in such a way that it makes the surrounding in harmony with every thing around to get all wisdom and happiness.

To say precisely Vastu brings peace, prosperity and harmony in a living place. In this fast moving world, it is extremely difficult to find peace and happiness. How many times have you heard people say 'I am always troubled and can't find any happiness in my new home', or 'I can't seem to achieve any success in my business since I have shifted to the new building'? These sorts of problems are very common if the house or a building is not built according to certain principles set in the ancient science of Vaastu Shastra.

The word 'vaastu' means a dwelling and Vaastu Shilpa is the science of house building. This science is very ancient in India. According to Hindu mythology, it is said that Lord Shiva passed this science of Vaastu Shastra to Brahma, the creator of the universe. The present day vaastu consists of 125 verses contained in brihat sanhita of varahamihira.

The science of Vaastu Shastra is an ancient science, which helps one to get the natural benefits offered by the five basic elements of the universe - Akash (SKY), Prithvi (EARTH), Paani (WATER), Agni (FIRE), and Vayu (WIND). Vaastu Shastra can be applied by keeping in harmony with these five basic elements of nature.

You might have observed many a time that in spite of putting in all the required effort and resources, you are unable to obtain the desired result. Similarly, you might observe disharmony and chaos in your family though you are unable to figure out the cause of the problems. An expert in Vaastu Shastra can tell you if the construction of the building is the root cause of all the problems, and also give you solutions. With a little bit of modification in the building, you will soon notice good results and well being gradually and steadily.

We feel much better when our environment is in tune with nature but as soon as the equilibrium imbalances, it practically affects human beings in every way. A place can be in harmony only if it is tolerant and Vastu compliant with our nature. Thus Vastu is all about balancing the energies around environment; we certainly get a new harmonious place which renders us good health, wealth and peace.

Vastu Tips For Harmony:

  • The main entrance should be in the East or North but it should not be in front of the compound wall.
  • The wall of the house in the North-Eastern side should have minimum height.
  • If the wall of the house in the East is tall, it stalls the entry of prosperity, the Goddess Laxmi, into the house. Therefore, it should be small in height.
  • Terrace or balcony in the house should be either in the East or the North.
  • A well, pole or a temple should not be there in front of the main entrance of the house.
  • The slope of the house should be towards East, North or North-East. Similarly, the slope of the plinth also should be towards East, North or North-East.
  • The main entrance of the house should not be in front of that of the opposite house.
  • The house should be equipped with the protective wall.
  • The upper storeys of the house should be constructed on the Southern or Western part.
  • The cupboard in the wall should be the Southern or Western part direction of the house.
  • Try to create balance with nature and use only paper bags made from recyclable material.
  • Burn Camphor in house and spread its fume all over the place to negate the negativity.
  • Avoid over-head tank in North-east while here underground water tanks are preferable.
  • Retired owner or head of house should be given South-west corner to keep the relationship of parents and children happy.
  • Keep your house clutter free and tint your place with cheerful light colour.
  • Keep some source of water in North-east while flowing is better than stagnant water in this corner.

To keep the balance of energies in home and environment for harmony in house above useful tips should be considered.
