Chaldean Numerology

The Chaldean system of numerology is considered by many to be more accurate than the Pythagorean system, however it is not nearly as widely used. This most likely is due to the fact that the Chaldean chart for translating letters into numbers is not as intuitive or easy to learn as the Pythagorean chart.

The Chaldean Number Values

The following chart shows the numbers assigned to each letter in Chaldean numerology and is the basis for many numerology readings. To read the chart, find the letter you are looking for and look at the corresponding number at the top of the column containing the letter. For example, the letter A would be 1, the letter B would be 2, the letter C would be 3, etc.

In looking at the chart you may have noticed that the numbers only go from 1-8. This is because in Chaldean numerology the number 9 is considered sacred and is not included with the rest. If, however, when doing your calculations you arrive at an answer of 9 that is fine and it should stay.

Pythagorean Numerology

The Pythagorean system of numerology is the most widely used form of numerology. This is most likely due to the fact that it is very straightforward and easy to learn

The Pythagorean Number Values

The following chart shows the numbers assigned to each letter in Pythagorean numerology and is the basis for many numerology readings. To read the chart, find the letter you are looking for and look at the corresponding number at the top of the column containing the letter. For example, the letter A would be 1, the letter B would be 2, the letter C would be 3, etc. 

Destiny Number or Expression Number

Just as with your date of birth, your name also holds keys to who you are and who you were meant to be. One of the most powerful keys derived from your name is your Destiny number.

As we mentioned before, different numerologists may use different names to refer to the same number...in this case the Destiny number is also sometimes known as the Expression number.

The Destiny number is calculated from the sum of all the letters in your name exactly as it was given at birth. While the Life Path number tells who you are when you were born, your Destiny number reveals what you are meant to become and accomplish with your life.

Many people who are struggling in life or unhappy find that they are working in opposition to their destiny and that by making simple changes, setting new goals and adjusting their outlook to be more in line with their Destiny number they are able to find the happiness that previously eluded them.

When you calculate your Destiny number it is important that you use your full name exactly as it appears on your birth certificate.

The Nine Numbers

For those whose name falls under 1 or (10/1), they are characterized as someone whose life is moving towards independence and becoming a leader. They may tend to avoid being in a position where they are stuck in a rut which can lead them to become quite egotistical.

In number 2 (11/2 or 20/2) you tend to find ways to grow your awareness of the spiritual world and how you can interact with the people in a good way. People whose name falls under the number 2 have all the necessary tools to get along well with other people. The negative side is that you can be easily hurt or oversensitive.

Destiny Number 3 (12/3, 21/3 and 30/3) are the type of people whose life tend to be more on the creative side. They are the ones who are full of enthusiasm in life and are willing to share that with other people wherever they go. Too much of this can lead to you become superficial where you spread yourself too thin to others.

For those who fall under the number 4 (22/4, 13/4, 31/4, 40/4) are those who are moving towards perfecting their management skills. They are often referred to as the Master Builder because of the Master Number 22. On the negative side, they can be bossy or very dominant.

Destiny Number 5 (14/5, 23/5, 32/5) follow the path that can bring change to everyone. People in this category are multitalented and are quite versatile. You can express your ideas in a way that other people become interested making you quite good in the field of sales. Too much of this can result to restlessness where it can manifest in you not staying in a project for long.

Number 6 (15/6, 24/6, 33/6, 42/6, 51/6) follows the road to enhance their responsibilities, balance and love. They tend to make everything chaotic into order and balance everything. However, they can be stubborn at times or domineering.

People that fall under the Number 7 (16/7, 25/7, 34/7, 43/7, 52/7) are leaning towards developing their mental faculties. They can do this by observation or careful thinking of the problems at hand. They are best doing things alone as well. On the negative side, you tend not to trust people and can be self-centered as well.

Number 8 (17/8, 26/8, 35/8, 44/8, 53/8) people tends to develop the material aspect of their lives. They are more inclined to attain riches, by furthering their ambitions to have a stable status. This can be taken into excess as well where in you miss out other things in your life.

The last Destiny Number is 9 (18/9, 27/9, 36/9, 45/9, 54/9). In this category, people tend to develop their sense of compassion above all. Most often they are the ones who are comfortable in the role of being the big sister or brother in a community. If the positive side is not nurtured, you can become aloof or self centered in the long run.
