2012 : The Promise and the Challenge - A Mercury Cycle!
The journey will continue at neck breaking speed. And Mercury will propel intellectual revolution worldwide. Comprised of the number of the Moon (2), the great void and portal of consciousness (0), the number of soul, Sun (1), and again the Moon (2), all in all this adds up to number 5, the number of Buddh - Mercury, reminding us not to sacrifice exalted virtues of truth for temporal measures.
Mercury being the smallest planet in our Solar System, somewhat rajasic in nature, due to a quicksilver like changeable nature, is the prince of the Vedic pantheon of the nine planets, ruling our vibratory playground. Mercury in Sanskrit is known as Kumar - for ever young -and implies the youth, vigour and optimism allowing us to connect with hope and looking to the cycles of nature renewing themselves. Buddh, which literally means “intellect”, delivers the ready wit of pratiuttapanna mati, the shakti of the clever negotiator. The merchant like nature of Mercury, makes it takes risks and gamble (hopefully not with the future of mankind), and it is the wheeler dealer of the Zodiac, with an opportunistic streak. Mercury, also known as the “cosmic trickster,” has a cunning component, can be manipulative and deceitful, and is always looking to learn and gain more advantage. Mercury is fond of travel and adventure, so this will be a good cycle to plan your always dreamt of expedition and vacation - with purpose - into new cultures and terrain. Mercury is a planet on the move.
After the chaotic experience of 2011 (#4 Rahu cycle) with its many harsh, abrupt and anxiety producing changes, 2012 suggests a far more positive potential to our rapid evolutionary transformation. Of course only if we own up to individual and collective responsibility to actively partake in this cosmic adventure. 2012 will necessitate for us to enter into the dialog with the “whole of things”, the animals, the plants, the oceans, the atmosphere, the planet, not just human beings. We are ONE!
We will be challenged to be more conscious of vibratory interactivity in all dimensions conceivable. We will need to be the “somebody” we were meant to be, and inhabit and occupy the intellect in its highest aim. Occupy our essence. We may utilize Mercury in its inherent alchemical propensity to become more of a fluid instrument of the divine. Our job will be a steadfast engagement with a wholistic transformation, not just an intellectual Ego cult. Mercury is a planet which gives knowledge, and is considered wise and wealthy. He is ruled by Lord Vishnu (the Preserver), whose consort is MahaLakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth (abundance in all forms, not just money). As Mercury is related to earnings and business in general, it would be prudent to solicit his favor with the following mantra, especially on Wednesdays, a day to wear the colors of oceanic green (vs. forest green), and do something nice for the young , especially in the form of education.
The
nine-year cycle that lasts from 2008 - 2017 is the most
important nine-year cycle in centuries. It's a pivotal
cycle, so impactful that it changes the direction of our
complete evolutionary path. Within this nine-year cycle,
the year 2012, a 5 Universal Year, represents the actual
hinge-point -- the Mayan calendar tells us this too,
even if many have gone a bit overboard in their
interpretations.
Change is
the only constant in this universe -- a truth we tend to
ignore as we go about our daily routines. Fortunately or
unfortunately, the year 2012 promises to bring that
reality back to the foreground of our collective
awareness. Dominated by the number 5, 2012 is dramatic
in terms of unexpected twists and turns -- all of which
take place within this longer cycle that is, itself, a
major turning point.
In this
pivotal year of 2012, there will be change, change and
more change, covering everything under the sun: the
economy (in the U.S., Greece, Italy and Spain, to name a
few), politics (like continuing Arab unrest, shocking
election results in the U.S., expanding demonstrations
such as the Occupy Wall Street movement and escalating
unrest in France and the UK), the environment (including
poisonous clouds over parts of Asia, China in
particular, nuclear waste disasters in developed
countries, and an alarming increase in worldwide health
issues such as asthma and autism), and anything else you
can think of. Nothing will be as expected. Earthquakes
and floods, wildfires and hurricanes are just the tip of
the iceberg. Economic power slips from the west to the
east and back again. The largest economies in the world
are held hostage to their own greed, and therefore their
survival becomes dependent on the weakest. The political
arena, already a three-ring circus, continues to get
sucked deeper into the quicksand.
2012 is a
time of separation and a growing clarity -- who really
wins and who really loses; who grows and who is
diminished. A sizeable chunk of the world population
will see hope in all those changes, and rightly so.
These transformations are due, or else they wouldn't
happen. It's a cleansing of sorts and it smoothes the
road ahead -- the doctor is IN, so to speak.
Whether
you see it yet or not, the future holds a promise so
exquisite, so unbelievably beautiful, your imagination
could never, in a thousand years, produce the dream to
match it. Yet before the world can see and recognize
that promise, we have to turn a corner. And that's what
this nine-year cycle is all about -- and the year 2012
especially.
With the
vibrant, rebellious, and unconventional 5 entering the
picture and bombarding every aspect of life for all of
2012, those who have difficulty accepting change will
face a harder path. This is not a good time to put your
faith in the status quo. Instead, just keep up your
sails, relax and let the wind do the rest. You'll be
just fine.
2012
is the Year of Predictions and Prophecy. Never before has a moment in time
stimulated so much conjecture and discussion. It is time to look at 2012 from a
numerical standpoint and allow Numerology to provide additional insight and add

Each

2012, without question, will be an exciting year. We have a major opportunity to
make progress in the advancement of humanity. The time for change is now.
The following are potential trends for 2012 based upon Numerology and my
personal insight:
Occupy Wall Street:
This movement has felt limitations and restrictions in 2011 because the 4
Universal Year clings to conventional thinking but this will not be the case for
2012. The Occupy movement will expand in 2012. People from all walks of life
will join this movement. I have major concern that riots will take place and
there is a potential for violence if our leaders continue to try to suppress the
movement. This movement, although not perfect, represents a shift in the
collective consciousness and serves to shine a light upon truth and creating a
better world that serves all mankind. It does create a forum to address the
problems we have in this country which need change and because of that; I see no
end to the movement.
On a global scale, protests will also accelerate and again, there is potential
for violence.
Religion:
Because the 5 is open-minded and seeks new ideas and philosophies, this year
will bring even greater acceptance of spiritual philosophy. The shift in this
thinking has already begun but this is the year that will expand it even
further. People are looking for answers when it comes to their religious
beliefs. What was once "New Age" will become mainstream.
Technology:
The 5 is strongly associated with technology and new ideas so this should be a
huge year for the advancement of technology.
Weather:
The trend for unusual weather phenomenon will continue but I feel windstorms
will make the headlines. Chicago and Texas should take note.
We have had relatively minor hurricane seasons for the past several years
however this is about to change. I expect an active hurricane season and unlike
the past few seasons, these will make landfall as hurricanes and cause damage.
The East Coast is in for problems with major snowstorms this winter and flooding
later in the year. There will be extended disruptions of electrical power due to
the stormy weather not only in the East, but elsewhere as well. There will also
be an increase in tornadoes in the usual places but Florida should remain
vigilant.
Business:
Bad news for the big banks, Bank of America, Chase and Citibank perhaps due to
the backlash from unethical business practices as well as the cascading effects
of failed investments due to the economy. Expect financial losses with these 3
companies. There will be a continued trend of people moving their money to local
banks and credit unions. There will be huge developments with fraud charges with
major companies next year. The bankruptcy of MF Global will be in the news not
only for the economic ramifications but also for unethical procedure. Wall
Street is feeling the effects of the economy and jobs will continue to disappear
even in the financial district. Other companies that will experience hardship
will be Sprint and Netflix. There is a chance the USA will have its credit
rating downgraded again. Expect major financial news in March and December.
Sun:
Yes we are entering the solar maximum and it is to be expected however next
year, we can count on major geomagnetic storms of greater intensity and there
may be a disruption of power or other effects that are severe. Solar events will
make the headlines.
Accidents:
This will be the year of accidents with trains, planes and automobiles. I do
feel we will have several major plane crashes and train collisions or
derailments. I can not rule out industrial or nuclear accidents as well. I can
also see failures of infrastructure such as dams or bridges. The potential for
additional repercussions due to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico are highly
likely.
Earthquakes:
The trend for larger than normal earthquakes will continue. Mother Earth is
going through her cycles too.
Computer Hackers:
There will be massive cyber attacks and computer sabotage. This will be big news
in 2012. The Internet is at risk in 2012.
The Sky is Falling:
2012 will be remembered for objects falling from the sky. I feel whether it is
satellites, space stations or space junk, there will be major news and
potentially a major accident due to debris falling from the skies. I can not
rule out a meteor either.
Riots in Prisons:
The call for change will also be seen in institutions that confine a person's
freedom. I think we will see major riots in prisons or hunger strikes.
Scandals:
We have seen recent headlines having to do with sexual abuse and 2012 will bring
more of this to light. Institutions, such as the Catholic Church, and
individuals will be held accountable for covering up sexual abuse.
Economic:
Food prices will continue to rise. There still will be no recovery for the
housing market. High unemployment rates will continue and I believe possibly get
worse with news of massive layoffs from big companies.
2012 Presidential Election: I
expect an unexpected outcome from this election. A "Dark Horse' candidate
will win the election.
Travel:
The 5 tends to place emphasis on travel so it should be a better than expected
year for the travel industry. It also is strongly associated with change of
residence and being that this vibration is on a global scale, I suspect people
may have to relocate, perhaps because of natural disasters or a change in the
area they are living.
2012 month by month
As 2012
begins, January through March will continue the current
trend of escalating unrest, volatile markets, and
disturbing weather patterns. In a way, we have become so
accustomed to the dramatically changing climate,
environment, economy and social order, that change is
quickly becoming the status quo.
April and
the early part of May will change that, so that even
those individuals who are permanently stuck in denial
mode are shocked out of there complacency. And
underneath it all, a current of basic human goodwill
flows stronger and stronger. This is a time for
optimism, even in the face of chaos.
June,
July, August bring us the summer of our transformation.
So much happens -- a lot of it scary and negative and
dominated by religious conflict -- that you have to be
wide awake to notice that underneath it all, a
heartwarming trend of care, brotherhood, empathy and
social consciousness continues to grow fast, and
globally. It's a story of death and rebirth.
And while
2012 is the hinge-point of this bigger nine-year pivotal
cycle, September, specifically, is the axis around which
the pivot turns. For most of us, this fact will be
obscured by the fast pace of things, one big news story
after another. But once we are far enough removed that

October,
