In 2026, the Flying stars for the year will change on either the 3rd or 4th of February, depending on which country you are based in.

When the Flying stars change each year, this creates a massive shift in energy and the layout for the previous year may no longer work well in a home or workplace, so it is always wise to prepare for this by going through the Flying star analysis and place your annual cures and enhancers for the year ahead.

This gives you a choice of how to treat the areas, depending on your life circumstances. Although traditional cures are more effective, I appreciate that not everyone can afford them, which is why I have always offered advice on using items you may already have at home.

Our ethos is always to provide alternatives that can be found around your home if you do not want to place the cures or cannot afford them, as we believe that good Feng Shui should be available to the masses. HOW DO I FIND THE 2026 COMPASS SECTORS IN MY HOME OR OFFICE?

The first thing to do when working out the 9 compass sectors of your home or office is to draw a rough floorplan of the building so that you have a good idea which rooms fall into which compass area. You can draw a rough plan by measuring the outside walls for accurate dimensions.

Once you have your floor plan, you will need a good-quality compass to find your compass direction. Smart phones usually have a built-in compass that will give you a general idea of the different sectors, although I would not recommend using this for accurate readings.

Now that you know the compass direction of your building, you can work out the different compass sectors of your home or office and write them down on the floorplan so that you can work out which Flying stars fall into which area for 2026 according to the eight magnetic directions and centre to plan how to make the most of your life for the year ahead.

There will be many websites and masters who say that this star can be activated straight away with fire cures, bringing lots of luck to the occupants; please, please do not take this advice as the #2 star is still an unstable one and should not be activated this way without extremely specialist advice with a full consultation done for period 9 beforehand.

Although the West has the potential to cause problems in 2026, this is an easy area to treat in 2026.

You may have come across websites saying that the #3 star will be usable during period 9. While there is some truth to this in special circumstances, this is extremely hard to get right and not something that I will be advising to anyone during period 9; this is the same as how we have always avoided activating the #2 star during period 8.

The easiest thing you can do to avoid the annual #3 star settled in the West is to keep this area calm and quiet during 2026. Obviously, this isn’t possible for the majority of us, and the best option is to weaken the West with a Red Pi Yao statue along with fire and earth elements and colours.

The West will affect all occupants of the home and workplace this year when activated, although this will be especially harmful to females and the youngest daughter in particular. Therefore, please treat this area carefully in 2026.

To remedy the effects of the annual #3 star in 2026, you should introduce fire and earth cures, such as crystals and candles, this year to weaken or drain the wood star. Lamps, candles, and LED lighting will work well in the West this year as the fire energy will weaken the annual star.

The upside to having the #3 star fall into this area is if you follow our advice each year, there is little to change here from last year, as we had the annual #4 star in the West last year, and the two stars share the same element and will be treated the same way with fire and earth cures.

If you have a bedroom, office, living room, kitchen or other important room in the West this year, I would suggest placing a Red Pi Yao statue to control and weaken the influence of the #3 star in 2026.

If possible, try to avoid any renovation or ground-breaking work in the West this year. This includes activities such as building an extension, knocking down internal walls, laying a patio, replacing a bathroom suite, or undertaking similar projects. If it is unavoidable and you must carry out work, aim to do so when a favourable monthly star visits the West — during February, March, April, June, October, November, December, or January 2027.

Please avoid having wood, water or metal cures in the West during 2026 as the water will enhance the bad annual star, and the metal will destroy the annual star, which is too strong of an energy and will cause much more severe problems.

If you have a water feature or fish tank in the West of your home or workplace during 2026, please consider removing this, as this will enhance the annual #3 star, causing the malevolent influence to strengthen. If you are unable to move the water, please make sure that you introduce some strong fire colours by the water feature or fish tank.

The best way to control and weaken the influence of the #4 star in the northeast in 2026 is to cCreate a balanced flow of energy, drawing away the harmful influence of the #4 wood star and weakening the inauspicious energy of the annual #4 star in the northeast for the year. The #4 star can also bring problems for all occupants of the home or workplace related to the thighs, hip, buttocks, bladder, and liver and can cause colds and flu. This makes it a volatile star for daily well-being, and we must keep this energy settled.

However, they will be more effective in the east, where the annual #8 star resides and has become the Peach Blossom star during Period 9. Please avoid reusing any wooden wish enhancers for the #4 star in Period 9, as wood will activate its inauspicious energy. Wooden wish enhancers and cures can instead be used for the annual #9 star, which will be located in the southeast in 2026. Suitable cures for the northeast this year are the same as those used to treat the #3 star, such as a red Buddha or candles.

Please do not introduce any wood, metal, or water colours into the northeast of your home or workplace in 2026, as these will aggravate the wood element of the annual #4 star. To control and weaken the influence of the annual five star, place a set of six Chinese i-ching coins tied with red ribbon, a six-rod hollow metal wind chime and a salt water cure in the south to avoid the problems that are associated with the #5 yellow disaster star.

A powerful and vital cure to place in the northwest of your home or office during 2024 is to place a set of six Chinese coins tied with a red ribbon in your building to weaken and appease the annual #5 yellow star.

Tai Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter) – South (172.5 – 187.5)

Like the Three Killings, Tai Sui should never be disturbed. The influence of Tai Sui can bring either positive or negative effects, depending on the annual Flying Stars that align with its location each year.

If your front door is located in the south during 2026, take care to avoid slamming or forcefully closing it, as this is one of the quickest ways to offend Tai Sui. Likewise, if your main bedroom or living area falls in the south sector, try to keep noise levels moderate — avoid playing music or television so loudly that everyday conversation becomes difficult.

The traditional way to appease Tai Sui during the Year of the Horse (2026) is to place a Wen Zhe Tai Sui Plaque in the south sector of your home or workplace for the entire year. This cure helps to honour and appease the Grand Duke, while also weakening the annual #5 Misfortune Star, which shares the same location in 2026.

By paying respect to the Grand Duke of Jupiter, we can weaken or avoid the problems this can bring.

Sui Po (Year Breaker) – North (352.5 º - 7.5 º)

In 2026, Sui Po, the Year Breaker, will occupy the north sector of your home or workplace. This area directly opposes Tai Sui, and it is also home to the Three Killings, making it particularly sensitive to noise and disturbance throughout the year. Too much activity in the north can lead to challenges for those living or working there.

To help settle this energy, you can place Three-Tier Pagoda Bell in the north and gently chime it whenever you walk past. This will help to calm the energy and maintain balance in this area.

Please try to avoid excessive noise, ground-breaking, or renovation in the north during 2026. When Sui Po is disturbed, it can lead to health concerns, particularly for elderly occupants, so please take extra care to keep this sector quiet and undisturbed throughout the year..

Please do not panic if the northwest, southeast, south or west of your home or workplace has a bedroom, office, living room or other regularly used room in one of these areas; start preparing to place your 2026 cures and enhancers  as of the 4th February to ensure a trouble-free year and also cleanse any old cures that you will be reusing this year.

Water placement in 2026:

As we enter period 9 Flying star Feng Shui, on the 4th of February 2024, the use of outside water has changed from period 8, and you will now be able to place a pond or water feature in the north up until 2044 and to fully activate this area you need a mountain in the south. Please bear in mind that moving water is a specialist tool in Feng Shui and should only be placed if you have been advised by a Feng Shui consultant who has a good understanding of your fixed Flying star chart in period 9.

During period 9, the use of water changed, and although I don’t like to advise on using water features without having done a full consultation or having a good understanding of the fixed Flying star chart, the general rule is that you can place a pond, water feature or pool in the north up until 2044. To full activate this area, you would need a mountain or tall structure in the south, so please use this only if you are confident in your knowledge of the fixed stars.

When placing water inside of your home, it is imperative that the water is kept very clean and is constantly flowing; if you have a water feature, this should be kept on, and if you have a fish tank, the pump should be running so that the water is constantly flowing. Stale and dirty water will very quickly create negative Qi (energy) in a home, which will make its way all around and turn good into bad if left alone. Using water in Feng Shui is a very powerful tool and is a vital part of Feng Shui (Shui meaning water). The Qi around the home or office is caught by the water and is then cleansed and distributed around the building, provided the water is clean and flowing.

Your Primary and Secondary wealth area for period 9 – 2024 – 2044 and water placement for that 20-year cycle

As you probably know by now, we will enter period 9 on the 4th of February 2024 and if you followed our advice 20 years ago you may have activated the southwest of your home or office with an outside water feature to activate your primary and secondary wealth area, this can bring unforeseen prosperity and for a business new clients/customers.

This is a particularly powerful water Dragon method but must be followed carefully, it is also known as Sub Direct spirit, nothing to do with ghosts but the Ho Tu combinations 1-6 2-7 3-8 4-9.

This method is called “Direct & Indirect spirit” (Zheng Shen & Ling Shen)  and for period #9 (2024 – 2044) you could place an outside water feature in the north.

The basic rules for period 9 2024 – 2044 are you must have real water, road or lower ground in the north and a mountain, building, trees or high fence in the south. It is nice if you have a real mountain or neighbouring building in the south but the average home does not always enjoy this, so you can build a virtual mountain by placing a fence panel, growing trees or even a pile of beach boulders in the south. Most important do not have water in the south from February 4th 2024 unless you have had professional; advice from a Feng Shui consultant. This water placement must be outside and placed as far from the house as possible.

If you have both (mountain & water) as above you will have a happy home and wealth will be good. If you have water in the north but no mountain/building in the south wealth will be good but it does not mean your home will be unhappy and the same applies in reverse. If you have no water in the north, it does not mean you will have bad wealth, far from it.

These methods are one of many and a more in-depth way of tapping into wealth with traditional Feng Shui and they include five Ghosts carrying money, many Castle gate methods, Later Heaven Gua, Pa Sha, Wang Chen, Fan Gua mountain & water, to name a few, these are all very powerful ways of activating wealth.

To recap:

4) Most important do not have water in the south from February 2024. If you have a pond or water feature in the south (inside or outside), I would recommend moving it unless you have been advised to place it by a Feng Shui master or consultant as he could be using even more advanced water Dragon methods.

You can also apply this formula when you buy or rent a building in a village, town or city you are planning to move to and if it has water (good for wealth) located to the north and mountains or hills (good for people) in the south of the area you know that particular area will prosper from 2024 – 2044.

Water Dragon Direct & in-direct spirit. (Zheng Shen & Ling Shen) Formula:

Look at the Lo Shu Map below and identify where the governing star is for the period, as you can see for period 8 it is located in the northeast, this is called Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) the palace opposite is southwest this is called Ling Shen (in-direct spirit).

In period 9 2024 – 2044 you will see the governing star #9 for that period is in the south which is called Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) and the palace opposite is north this is called Ling Shen (in-direct spirit).

• Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) Must have mountain support
• Ling Shen (in-direct spirit) Must have water or lower ground

Salt water cure placement for 2026:

We receive thousands of emails each year from people with all different levels of knowledge in Feng Shui telling us how helpful the salt water cure has been for their home and business and how they have helped change the energy for the better; receiving these emails always make my day, finding out how Feng Shui has helped others.

The Salt Water Cure is an extremely powerful and little-known cure, and one that we have used in our home, warehouse and office for over twenty-six years. We replace the Salt Water Cures at least once a year, and sometimes they need to be replaced within a few months as they remove and absorb so much negative energy from the surrounding area.

A Salt Water Cure is perhaps the most essential cure to be used in every building, especially if you find that you are experiencing bad luck, sore throats, loss of wealth or constant sickness in 2026; you will need to place a little-known cure called a “salt water cure”.
